The Amorettes are a Scottish hard rock band. Formed in 2009, they released their first album, ''Haulin' Ass'', the following year. Their second album, ''Game On'', which was produced by Chris Tsangarides, followed in 2015. They have performed in support of ex-AC/DC singer Dave Evans, W.A.S.P., Europe, Black Star Riders, Ash, Black Stone Cherry, Gun and Thunder among others, and have toured across the UK, as well as in several countries throughout Europe. ==Formation== The Amorettes were formed in March 2009 when vocalist and guitarist Gill Montgomery met drummer Hannah McKay at Stevenson College in Edinburgh. Influenced by bands such as AC/DC, Motörhead, Iron Maiden, Girlschool and Thin Lizzy, they developed a similar classic hard rock sound, described by the band as "hard, fast rock 'n' roll". The three-piece lineup was eventually completed by Hannah's sister Heather as bass guitarist. The band was named after Montgomery found the name 'Amorette' in a book of baby names. A notable early support role came in June 2009 when they opened for ex-AC/DC vocalist Dave Evans at the Glasgow date of his first UK tour.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=The Amorettes )〕 A further break arrived in 2010 when they supported W.A.S.P. at The Garage in Glasgow at very short notice when the scheduled band was delayed.
